Post-Apocalyptic Movie Picks #62
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Monday Feb 22, 2021
What a lovely day!
Welcome to our first ever planned picks only episode where we are going to be picking our films for the next show.
The theme is Post-Apocalyptic movies and as usual, we start with 3 films each and knock 2 out of each-others list to come up with our 2 films for the next episode.
Full disclosure, Dan’s neighbours are building an Aviary and if you listen closely, you can hear some nails being bashed through wood. Bonus points if you count the knocks.
If you would like to check out all the films mentioned during the episode, check out this list on Letterboxd

Time Loop Movies: Palm Springs & Primer #61
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Monday Feb 15, 2021
This week we’re stuck in a time-loop and we’re covering two movies with time loops which are Primer & Palm Springs.
Section 1 - Anything Goes
We talk about some films and TV shows we’ve recently been watching. Nicole spoils Bridgerton and Dan stops a flood.
Section 2 – Time-Loop Movies: Palm Springs & Primer
As time-loop was a theme chosen by Nicole in the last episode, it’s her turn to introduce us to the topic. Tune in to hear what Nicole has up her sleeve to introduce us to the world of time-loop films.
Then we get on to talking about the featured films. We start with Andy Samberg’s Palm Springs and finish with Primer which was written and directed by Shane Carruth.
Rounding out section 2, we announce the theme for the next episode and there’s also an update on our plans for the podcast going forward.
Section 3 – Stitch-Up
Last time Dan had to watch and talk about Sunday School Musical (tune in to our Snow-Based movies episode to hear that) but this week Nicole is taking up the stitch-up reigns to talk about The Love Guru.
Next up we find out if Nicole will be watching Atlantic Rim or Dan will be watching Jack the Giant Slayer for the next episode as voted by our listeners on Instagram.
Lastly, we announce the films for the next poll so look out for that on Dan’s Instagram.

Snow-Based Movies: Wind River & 30 Days of Night #60
Monday Feb 01, 2021
Monday Feb 01, 2021
After an extended break after Christmas, we’re back and as promised, we are here to talk about Wind River and 30 Days of Night as part of our snow-based movies episode.
Section 1 - Anything Goes
Dan explains why we’ve had so much time off and it’s not just because Dan watched Tenet and spent a month trying to figure out what was happening. On that note, full Tenet spoilers in this episode so if you haven’t seen it, skip forward to the 13-minute mark.
All that plus we discuss some of the things we’ve recently watched and our 2020 end of year final movie count.
Section 2 – Snow-Based Movies: Wind River & 30 Days of Night
As the Snow movies theme was Dan’s idea, it’s his turn to do the topic intro and this time it’s a snow-based quiz.
Then we get on to talking about the featured films.
Next Week’s Picks
Nicole chooses the movie theme this time. This is the part where we start with 3 each and whittle our choices down to 1 each to come up with the featured films for the next episode.
Section 3 – Stitch-Up
Last time on the show, Nicole reviewed Mac and Me, which was her 4th loss in a row. This time it’s finally back to Dan who has words about Sunday School Musical.
Next up we find out if Nicole will be watching The Love Guru or Dan will be watching The Amazing Bulk for the next episode.
Lastly, we announce the films for the next poll so look out for that on Nicole’s Instagram.
